The largest lender in America is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Appraiser to join our team. As a Staff Appraiser, you will be responsible for conducting reviews of property appraisals to ensure that our mortgage loans are based on accurate and reliable valuations.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Work closely with the UWM Appraisal Direct Team to ensure that property appraisals are in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Assist with Reconsideration of Value escalations.
• Assist the Repurchase team validate investor repurchase requests for unacceptable appraisal practices.
• Communicate appraisal findings to loan officers, underwriters, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and market trends.
• Analyze data and market trends to determine accurate property valuations.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a real estate appraiser.
• State certification or licensure as a real estate appraiser.
• Knowledge of USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice).
• Knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA appraisal guidelines
• Knowledge of appraisal bias and ability to minimize its impact on appraisals.
• Working knowledge of Appraiser Independence Requirements.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with investor repurchases is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) is preferred.
• Onsite attendance is required (Must have excellent attendance record)
